21st Century Technology for Teachers and Students

In today's technology-based society it is imperative that K-12 education make use of technology tools and resources to help students succeed.  Since students have been raised with technology, ranging from cell phones and iPods to video game systems and personal laptops, their classroom experiences should build on their understanding of, enthusiasm for and ability with technology.

Our trainings and services emphasize teacher integration of technology resources, not just the ability to find and use the resources.  Through standards-based training, teachers understand how technology can be a seamless part of regular K-12 classroom activities, making technology as "regular" a part of learning as pencil and paper.  The questions is.....Are your students learning the way they are living?

WHY USE TECHNOLOGY in SCHOOLS?

"If kids cannot learn the way we teach.....lets teach the way they learn!"

adapted from a quote by:  Ignacio Estrada

Our team is made up of current or previously certified teachers and administrators.  With this background we understand the challenges schools have in the integration of technology.  That is why most of our training is designed around the effective use of FREE online resources and tools.  Additionally, when it comes to Internet-based learning resources, we believe kids should have the same access at home as they have at school, so FREE resources are extremely important as a way to extend the learning day.

Our training and materials have been developed around the following beliefs:

  • ALL teachers can learn to effectively integrate educational technology
  • Educational technology tools and resources have a place in ALL K-12 classrooms
  • The use of technology in the classroom increases student engagement
  • An engaged student will be a more successful student
  • Higher level information literacy skills can lead to classroom success
  • Classroom integration of technology should be built around local, state and national educational standards and expectations
  • "Web 2.0" tools can have substantial impact in the classroom

Our sessions are aligned with many of the standards, recommendations, guidelines and best practices of the following organizations:

We can work with you to develop customized training ranging from a 1/2 day introductory session to a longer-term professional development project.
